The Dayton Regional Stem School is up and running and recently expanded facility.  Currently 640 students from 8 counties and 33 school districts - truly a regional asset - will graduate 3rd class in spring 2015

STEM Fellows

The STEM Fellows proposal to the Engineering and Science Foundation has been approved for $120,000 ($40,000/year for three years)!  That means we will create 30 more STEM Fellows towards our goal of one Fellow for every K-12 school building.

Regional STEM Collaborative

Focus shifting from building the RSC to “being” the RSC; Communications and outreach increasing to promoting awareness for the RSC and STEM career opportunities.  Booths at various events like Ohio Robotics Inc.’s November XtremeBOTS competition, hundreds of students in attendance and close to 1,000 people at this bi-annual STEM event.

Visited many STEM programs and businesses in the region to collect best practices for the RSC.

Ohio Robotics, Inc.

Ohio Robotics Inc. (www.MADEinOHIO.us) partnered with the Air Force Research Laboratory and the Dayton Development Coalition and in August hosted the first ever high school UAS competition in North America!  We had a direct impact on over the 40+ high school kids that participated in the program but also we were able to impact and educate around 200 other students that we had contact with due to the program.  The event was called Destination Dayton, more info, photos and a video at www.MADEinOHIO.us .
